Novus Contemporary Art
Friday 4th & Saturday 5th - Late night opening with complimentary fizz for browsers.
WestFest Weekend - Novus are hosting demonstrations of the world's most advanced digital media system, Meridian "Sooloos", by sponsors Meridian @ Russ Andrews. Be amazed by the power, clarity of sound, sophistication and sheer beauty of this incredible touchscreen system.
Also on show at Novus will be the current exhibition by Russell Hatton - painting the most amazing images on aluminium canvasses; you do need to see it to believe it.
Didsbury Life
Friday 4th - Didsbury Life will holding a preview of our latest art exhibition by Jennie Keegan and friends. We'll also be exhibiting the artwork produced by the pupils of Cavendish Primary School for their 2010 calendar, which has been sponsored by many of the local independent West Didsbury businesses. Pop in for a mince pie and a glass of fizz...
Saturday 5th & Sunday 6th - The girls from Tread will be creating an eco-Xmas inside and outside of Didsbury Life, selling their beautiful recycled tyre Moroccan frames, planters and other garden and household accessories. For Christmas with a conscience, look no further!
The Metropolitan
Thursday 3rd 8pm - Metropolitan Christmas Party in the marquee - complimentary glass of champagne upon arrival. With a 4 course dinner, there are games, posh tombola and a spectacular prize draw with some fantastic Christmas gifts to be won (it was the only place you could get your hands on a Wii last year!). Casino & DJ 'til late and of course the bar is still open...

Saturday 5th - afternoon - Christmas toons from Lucy and the Legends - guitar, fiddle, vocals, cello accompanied by mince pies, mulled wine and festive fun!
Sunday 6th - afternoon - Silver Apples Cinema, 4pm : "It's a Wonderful Life"! - evening - resident jazz connoisseur Anton Hunter and start of new weekly Sunday night Quiz night. Plus a festive bakesale on Sat. and Sun. mornings too.
All weekend - Artist, Partick O'Rourke will be making the walls of Silver Apples come to life.

WestFest Weekend - Blaggs will be donating 10% of the sales of all Christmas trees to Cavendish Primary School and will be selling very special clay Christmas mobiles, made by the pupils from the school. There'll also be the traditional Blaggs window and roof display.

Saturday 5th - The soul crunchin’, heart thumpin’ Atlanta Soul, Manchester's finest Funk/Soul act are playing live, 8.00pm -1.00am. They'll be supported by a DJ set from Martin the Mod, a legendary figure on the Manchester Soul scene, playing classic Soul, Motown and Northern tunes. West Didsbury Residents Association
Saturday & Sunday - The West Didsbury Residents' Association is pleased to announce that we will be spending Westfest in One Lounge.
From 12.00-5.00 on both days we will be selling hot chocolate and mulled wine in our stylish West Didsbury mugs - yes we're recreating a Christmas Market theme this time! And of course providing an assortment of festive WD badges for Festgoers to proudly wear on their lapels.
Call in and see us to find out about all the latest happenings in the area. You can even join if you're not a member already, or renew your membership if your time is up.
Cavendish Primary Christmas Fair
Saturday - All the usual fun & festive frolics, 1 - 3pm at our Annual Christmas Fair (£2 entry fee)
All the old favourites return, including "Ice a Biscuit", "Chocolate Tombola" and, weather permitting, a Bouncy Castle. The top prize for this year's raffle is 2 tickets to see 'JLS' in concert in February, plus dozens of other prizes kindly donated by our local businesses. Receive a present from Father Christmas and buy a specially designed Cavendish school calendar, sponsored by the local independent businesses in West Didsbury, plus a whole lot more…
All profits go directly to Cavendish Community Primary School.
The Birches
Saturday 5th - Christmas Fair - 2pm-4pm.
