The Metropolitan, or the ‘Met’ as it is known locally, although large, is not huge by modern day standards. Rather it is an eclectic collection of smaller spaces each with its own identity and ambience. From the Red Room to the Library and the Snug to the Conservatory, there is a space to suit each and every visitor.

Tthe bar with its 20 metre span and 5 metre high wall of wines and malt whiskies, only reached by means of a ladder, is impressive. But even this, broken up into sections by the massive columns that support the building, provides a sense of space within a space. Add to all this an outdoor facility second to none, an al fresco bar, with cover, heating and comfortable seating, plus an attendant to look after your car... What are you waiting for?
