The Drawing Room is a recent addition to West Didsbury’s thriving social scen. It’s run by fine art tutors Rob & Lorna Holbrook and, as you’d imagine, is impeccably done out. It’s an intimate space, long and narrow and the blank canvas is pure white with splashes of colour, provided by the cool spherical amber lamps hanging down low over the tables. A banquette which runs the length of the room has different coloured cushions scattered over it. And it’s lined with some of the funkiest low white leather chairs you’ll ever see. • Saturday & Sunday (1pm till 6pm): A paint by numbers image of Burton Road to be completed by visitors on the day. Final piece to be exhibited for sale in the bar. Any proceeds/ donations to be given to the Alzhiemers Society.
• Sunday: A History of Art Lecture-in 60 minutes! To be accompanied by artists' favourite drinks of the day (3 x 20 min lectures). £10 per head, approx 4.30-6.00pm. Advised to book in advance.
