Novus Contemporary Art has categorically removed itself from the traditional misconception of art galleries. Novus, meaning ‘new’ and the derivative of the word ‘innovative’ meaning fresh and different, is family owned.

The gallery, established in West Didsbury in early 2005, strives to be anything but unapproachable. We treat people how we would expect to be treated. Over ten years experience in hospitality, combined with a keen commercial eye for art, has resulted in a cool, sophisticated, friendly art gallery.

• Lizi Botham (previously Bizi Lizi from "SMart" children's art programme and SMarteenies, its spin-off designed for pre-school viewers) will be painting with children on the day
• Each child will paint a square, helping create a painting of a hundred squares - the finished painting being donated to Christies
