Welcome to WestFest
WestFest is great WestFest in 2009 was the first of many planned successful collaborations between the independent businesses of West Didsbury. And now we've done it all again in September 2010.

We had the weather on our side and the crowds turned out over both days to support and celebrate everything that's good about West Didsbury. The range of events was amazing - Bistro156 had a New Orleans to feel it, Blaggs barbecued home made burgers, Namaste Nepal beautified the girls with henna tattoos, Piccolino taught diners how to make fresh pasta, Frankie's Fish Bar gave away enough fish & chips to sink a ship, the Mad Hatter came to Love2Eat, Joe created a work of art over the weekend, Silver Apples hosted a mini village fete, Rhubarb & Folk went all American, a West Didsbury community mosaic was created, Azzurro barbecued the most amazing fresh fish, the Farmer's Market was back at Thyme Out Deli...

We'll be posting regular blogs to showcase what happened over the weekend, as well as posting images and uploading a timelapse video with music from a very special band...

For such an amazing weekend, it's a real shame that we feel we have to issue an unequivocal apology to residents and businesses who were disturbed on Sunday evening by the actions of one business who felt it appropriate hold a private party and blast out music until late into the evening. Whilst we want all businesses to participate, the whole point of WestFest is to celebrate our community. And, our community involves the residents. Therefore, we wholly apologise to all residents who had to endure the unacceptable level of noise. This individual event was NOTHING to do with the festival. We had had no prior notification. It was not an event which was listed on our website. You can be sure that we will continue to work very closely with the West Didsbury Residents' Association and Didsbury Police to ensure that WestFest continues to be an event which can be enjoyed by participating businesses and residents alike.
