Folk Café Bar

Folk Cafe BarFolk are turning Folk into the good old 1950s British 'seaside' resort of ''WestFest Supermare'' for the weekend... Expect:

1. The famous Folk beach will be back
2. Punch and Judy show (Saturday afternoon)
3. An ice cream van
4. 'Folk' Rock on sale
5. Live music on Sunday 4th
6. The usual brilliant Folk DJs on Friday and Saturday evening
7. A special Folk BBQ.

Milly Mog

Milly MogMilly Mog starts WestFest in style. On Thursday 1st September, from 7.00pm, there'll be a preview of their new Autumn/Winter Milly Mog collection, featuring amongst others Molo, Mini Rodini, Phister and Philina, Converse and Ugg - as well as 15% off on the evening to ticket holders.

There'll be lots of raffle prizes, including a Pink Lining leather changing bag, worth £150, as well as fizz and canapes from West Didsbury's Pinchjo's.

Over the weekend of Saturday and Sunday 3rd and 4th, expect pop up visits from Ran Shop, Tamsin Toys and Freda and Me, along with a two day stint from fantastic facepainters, Daisy Doos!

The Rose Garden

The Rose GardenSaturday 3rd 11.30am till 4pm, The Rose Garden will be celebrating the great British picnic, with all things North West. A stall outside will be selling The Rose Garden's take on the British picnic, i.e. quails Scotch eggs, homemade lemonade, miniature casseroles cooked on the deck, homemade pate, chutney, eccles cakes etc. People can buy individual items or you can buy a miniature hamper full of your favourites. Everything will be gingham and very British with their very own Rose Garden twist. Then on the Saturday evening and Sunday all day they will have the picnic platter as a special shared starter and maybe some 'WestFest' specials!

The Rose Garden will also be holding a raffle where in return for supplying an e-mail address you are in for a chance to win a fabulous meal for 2 and some special Rose Garden treatment.

And The Dish Ran Away With The Spoon

And The Dish Ran Away With The Spoon WestFest weekend will be an all-round celebration of the nation’s best-loved drink TEA! To mark the launch of their new extensive new loose-leaf tea range in-store, And The Dish Ran Away With The Spoon will be paying homage to the mighty tipple with tea tastings from their new tea supplier and tea-leaf readings provided by lovely tea leaf reader Sarah!

Naturally,tea and cake are the perfect pairing, so expect the lovely teapot to feature heavily on the menu, and tea to find its way into their special festival weekend cake range (including the ever popular cream tea of course!). They’ll be serving all this up (indoors and outside the shop too) to a fantastic 50s teadance soundtrack and more tea-trivia and factoids than you can shake a stick at!

Thyme Out Delicatessen Farmers' Market

Thyme Out DeliFast becoming a WestFest institution, all weekend sees the return of the fabulously popular Thyme Out Farmers' Market, again located outside Thyme Out Deli itself on Nell Lane.

Thyme Out will also be doing a BBQ and there will be lots of tasty samples for you to experience. Expect lots more cakes, pies, quiches, chocolate fruit and more from the Deli kitchen and their local suppliers.

With a new "healthy option" menu coming soon, Thyme Out will also be introducing James Clark from Biotic Fit Nutrition, who has worked with Ben creating this super healthy eating menu for Thyme Out Deli customers.

Mary and Archie

Mary and Archie'sSaturday: Mary and Archie will be giving away little cupcakes all day until they run out. There is a 1am licence and DJ - the B Bop Kid (Your Mama's Cookin') at night playing blues, rock 'n' roll and rockabilly 40s-60s. Look out for some special treats on the food front too!

Sunday: Vintage fair, selling clothes, accessories and home ware. Live music from 7pm onwards, featuring T G Elias and guests.

Mary and Archie will be having a huge selection of American and British craft beers and ales for this weekend, serving up a nice range of kids' mocktails too. They also have and extended licence on the Friday in the run up.

Frog Furniture

Frog FurnitureFrog Furniture will be launching something very special over the weekend of WestFest. As well as this, Frog have secured a fantastic coup, as there will also be an exclusive live acoustic performance from hotly tipped talent, Kristyna Myles, on the Frog strip on Sunday afternoon. See below.

Again this year, you will find a colony of frogs outside the shop. One of these frogs can be yours for just £5. Underneath the frog you'll find a raffle ticket. When you buy the frog your ticket will be entered into the draw - and your frog could turn into a 'charming Prince' fabulous special prize!

Kristyna Myles

Krystina Myles Singer-songwriter Kristyna Myles began her musical career in the same place as James Morrison, KT Tunstall and Bob Dylan - busking on the streets. Playing on the streets of Manchester paid dividends when Kristyna won the 2005 BBC Radio 5 Live Busker of the Year Award.

Since then she has performed her songs on BBC television and radio, recorded at Abbey Road studios, played dates across Europe, duetted on a hit single  with Chris de Burgh in Germany and supported Simply Red's Mick Hucknall on his UK tour.

In 2009 Kristyna broke into the UK album chart Top 10 when one of her songs appeared alongside tracks from Amy Winehouse and Erykah Badu on the Universal Music TV advertised compilation album ‘Songbird’.  Kristyna was the only then unsigned artist to be featured on the album.

In March 2010 Kristyna performed at the famous SxSW Festival in Austin, Texas and in July signed a five album deal with Decca Records. Kristyna recently finishing recording her début self-written album working with acclaimed, multi-award winning producer Ken Nelson (Coldplay, Badly Drawn Boy, Gomez). The first single from her album is due for release in February.

Rhubarb RestaurantBritish themed food, drinks, music and games all weekend at Love2Eat, including:

Children's Design a Sandwich Competition

All week building up to WestFest, all kiddies can design and draw there own unique sandwich (basically, a list of ingredients and a drawing of how it will look)...

The competition will end on Sunday 4th and the winner will be invited to come down to Love2Eat and make their sandwich. It will then go on the Love2Eat menu and they will win a family day to Rock Over Climbing centre in Manchester. Forms will be available from Friday this week.
